First Annual Turkish Food and Children`s Fest was held in Memphis

P1030060Raindrop Turkish House in Memphis organized its First Annual Turkish Food and Children's Fest on April 21st, 2012. People from different areas of Memphis had a chance to experience Turkish culture in their own city. There were several stands including one that served Turkish Cuisine as well as Turkish tea and coffee. Guests were invited to experience cultural music, dance, and art. At the art stand, they had a chance to watch live demonstrations of Ebru (Turkish Water Marbling), Henna tattoo, and face painting.

At the Turkish cuisine stand, twenty-seven types of food and dessert were served. At the coffee and tea stand, visitors tasted Turkish coffee and were instructed in its preparation. They did not only experience Turkish coffee and tea but also learned the importance and meaning of coffee and tea in Turkish culture. Students from a public school demonstrated a Turkish regional dance. The event was a success and many Memphians were able to experience Turkish culture right here in Memphis.
